Time is getting short

It is Sunday afternoon, and on Wednesday, we board a plane to take us for my first visit of New Zealand. To say that I am just a bit excited, would be a huge under statement. I am already having trouble sleeping. Just think, nearly every bird I see will be a new Lifer for me. Driving down the road (on the right side of the road by the way) every bird that flies by, or I see sitting in a bush along side the road will be all new. With all this nasty weather here in the Seattle area, my birding opportunities have really slowed down. There has been a huge amount of little details to attend to before we leave, so it looks like the Years List, will sit at 203 when we fly out. Not a bad number, but still shy of a few birds I thought I would have checked off by now.

Nisqually Delta, here near Seattle gave up a few new birds, and one real bonus bird....a Saw-whet Owl!  It was pointed out to me by another birder on the refuge, and so I grateful the help out. In addition to the owl, I got a Fox Sparrow, Red-breasted Sapsucker, Barn Swallows, and Chestnut-backed Chickadee.
