Dark-eyed (Oregon) Junco

Ever since I was a kid, I have thought the little gray birds with the dark heads were pretty cool. They always reminded me of the guy in medieval times that was the "Head Chopper" as I called him. You know the guy, running around with an axe and black hood over his head! These birds are actually called Dark-eyed Juncos, Oregon Subspecies. Now that I am back in the PNW, my little Head Chopper birds are all around...and I still really enjoy them! Here are a few images that I got right after the snow stopped falling.
